Board Positions Up for Election

The following board positions are up for election. The board position descriptions all are excerpts from Article VI of the CAKE Bylaws. Please contact President Larena Code at [email protected] if you are interested in running for a board position.

Treasurer

The treasurer shall keep an accurate and complete record of all organizational business activities as well as an accurate record of dues paid by members of the organization. The Treasurer shall be custodian of all funds of the organization and shall present an account of all monies received and disbursed at each meeting of the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall prepare an annual financial report to be approved by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall prepare an annual financial report to be approved by the Board of Directors and submitted to the membership. The Treasurer shall notify the Board Members of new or renewed memberships. The Treasurer shall also prepare and send to the Division Treasurer on or before June 30 of each year: (1) The “Annual Chapter Fiscal Report,” corresponding bank statements and any other supplementary materials needed to reflect the financial status of the

Secretary of Membership

The Secretary of Membership shall process and organize online and in-person workshop registrations. The Secretary of Membership shall record attendance at workshops. They shall also be responsible for the collection and distribution of Professional Development forms according to the Illinois School Board of Education guidelines. The Secretary of Membership shall update the membership database quarterly and forward the information to the Board of Directors. The Secretary of Membership will distribute chapter newsletters/journals to the membership. The Secretary of Membership may have other duties as assigned by the President or Board of Directors. ​

Recording Secretary

The Recording Secretary shall keep minutes of all meetings of the Board of Directors and the membership. The Recording Secretary will be in charge of typing and mailing the minutes of each meeting to the Board of Directors. The Recording Secretary shall keep an accurate and complete record of all chapter business and activities. The Recording Secretary shall print and post notifications of meetings. The Recording Secretary shall contact individuals who have not renewed their OAKE membership. The Recording Secretary may have other duties as assigned by the President or Board of Directors. 

Member-at-Large​

The Member(s)-at-Large shall be in charge of the organization’s membership retention and encourage new memberships. Duties shall be to serve as regional coordinators. The Member(s)-at-Large may have other duties as assigned by the President of the Board of Directors.
